How to Make a Nomination

Thank you for helping us celebrate and honour exemplary achievements in the global business events industry.

Each year, the Events Industry Council celebrates and honours the exemplary achievements of professionals from across the business events industry through the EIC Global Awards.

The Nomination process begins with answering a series of questions about the nominee.

Nomination Tips:

  • Plan ahead. We recommend at least two weeks before the deadline.

  • Become familiar with each award and the individual criteria Take the time to review all nomination questions prior to beginning the nomination process.

  • Build a timeline for collaboration and communication in working with others to gather data points, achievements, past awards and anything else that will contribute to the support the nomination aligned with award criteria.

  • Collect a bio or CV for the nominee to include in the nomination.

  • Rather than using broad statements as testimonial it is important to build a narrative with tangible examples that support each question. For example, the Hall of Leaders application has been developed so that each question has a unique focus — industry impact, leadership and professional advancement, collaboration and industry service; and legacy and contribution to society.

  • Organise your answers in a separate document and then cut and paste your answers into the online form.

  • The Hall of Leaders, include letters of recommendation from at least two EIC members. The Pacesetter award requires one letter of recommendation from an EIC member organization

  • Nominating organisations should only put forward one candidate for each award.

Can multiple people work on a nomination?

Yes! We encourage you to work with others on the nomination. Appoint a lead who can coordinate with others to develop the nomination. This can help save time and provide diverse perspectives.
